Telehealth

Do I need a referral to have an appointment at Coffs Coast Nutrition?  A referral is not essential, unless you want an appointment under DVA or would like to claim a Medicare rebate. Private health funds do not require members to have a referral.

Coffs Coast Nutrition offers the following consultation options:

  • in-person
  • phone
  • Zoom / video
  • combination (eg attending the initial in-person consult at Coffs Coast Nutrition, followed by phone or Zoom review appointments)

Telehealth consults via phone and video / Zoom have been extremely popular due to the convenience (no need to travel to appointments or arrange child care etc). They are suitable for people of all ages, with our oldest telehealth client being 97 years of age.

We offer the same personalised support and care as if you were attending in person. Our telehealth consults are on time and clients receive an individualised appointment summary along with other relevant resources after the appointment.

Medicare rebates are available for telehealth appointments – if you provide a valid GP Management Plan and Medicare / EPC referral. Most private health funds provide a rebate for dietitian telehealth appointments, depending on level of cover.

There is no charge for DVA recipients (gold card holders only) as long as a D904 referral is provided.
